Design: The Process

A "Design is to design a design to produce a design"...hmm. I didn't know what to think when I heard that phrase...but in the end, it got me thinking. An in that moment things started to click for me and kind of make sense for me. That evening my sibling and I began to think about it and I asked her what her meaning of the word design meant to her. With her being an Art major I was pretty sure she was going to give me some kind of complex answer (because that's what kind of person she is). But I was surprised that she said, "a design is simply simple and purposeful".
That made me conclude that  one may come up of an array of answers. But design, to be exact, is derived from an Italian word disegno. And has been around since the "B.C." era...which is phenomenal. And these contribution has made not only our country what is today, but has had an impact worldwide. The Industrial Revolution shifted the the workshops to factories ands changed craft labor to mass production. But with that, the lack of quality of the product was less that adequate and cheap!
The whole design process can be a challenge to overcome, but with that came innovation and inventions like the singer swing maching and the telephone. I think that with just that handful of information I'm more thankful for how far along we come with this process. And wonder whats next to come!!!
